The Purdue MEP Mfg Dream Team connects today’s manufacturing professionals with tomorrow’s workforce, helping students discover rewarding careers while supporting the long-term talent needs of local manufacturers.

What Is the Mfg Dream Team?

The Purdue MEP Mfg Dream Team introduces high school students to modern manufacturing, advanced technologies, and career opportunities in STEM and skilled trades. Through classroom visits, presentations, and hands-on activities, students gain real-world insight into what manufacturing careers look like today and where they can lead.

Originally launched in 2016 by the Manufacturing Resource Center in Pennsylvania, the program has been expanded to several states through the U.S. through grant funding from the BlueForge Alliance. The Mfg Dream Team is an exciting workforce initiative designed to strengthen the nation’s manufacturing pipeline.

The Mfg Dream Team is comprised of people currently working in the manufacturing industry who bring diverse backgrounds, job roles, and career paths to the classroom. While their journeys may differ, team members share two important things in common: a love of manufacturing and an excitement to share their stories and experiences with students.

Who Should Get Involved?

Purdue MEP is seeking young manufacturing professionals who want to make an impact in their community by inspiring the next generation. Ideal participants include employees who are eager to:

• Share their career journey and experiences
• Represent modern manufacturing in a positive, engaging way
• Help students understand the wide variety of opportunities available in the industry

No prior teaching experience is required. Purdue MEP provides training and support to help Dream Team ambassadors feel confident and prepared.
