Oasis Lifestyle LLC

Plymouth, Indiana

Situation

Skilled workforce is in limited supply for many, if not all, manufacturers in Indiana. Due to this situation, Oasis Lifestyle has been forced to do more with less. The company’s team members are the most valuable resource and developing their skills not only helps business, it is simply the right thing to do. With this in mind, Oasis Lifestyle determined an outside provider was needed to continue employees’ professional development. The company turned to Purdue MEP for assistance.

Solution

In reviewing the company’s needs, it was determined Purdue MEP would conduct onsite classes in the areas of Leadership, Lean, and Six Sigma methods and theories. Specifically, the organization had employees take the following courses: Six Sigma yellow belt, problem solving, time management, Lean principles, 5S, value stream mapping, and kaizen facilitation.

Results

Due to the Lean/Six Sigma culture the company has cultivated, Oasis Lifestyle has seen an increase in revenue by 14.2%. Additionally, there have been efficiency gains throughout their facilities. Oasis Lifestyle also saw a reduction in turnover and an improvement in team member engagement.

“In our over three-year partnership with Purdue MEP, they have played an integral part in taking our team members, and thus our business, to the next level. Their highly skilled and engaging instructors use excellent examples within our plants to help us exceed our customers’ expectations and embody our Mission, Vision, and Values. We look forward to continuing our partnership in years to come.”
