Description

A goal of lean manufacturing is to eliminate wastes. Did you know that by eliminating wastes you can also improve employee safety and reduce accidents and injuries? In this workshop, you'll learn the relationship between lean and safety, assess your organization's safety culture, and learn steps for eliminating safety hazards in your environment.

Objectives:

  • Define the terms “safety,” “gemba,” and “lean” and explain how they are related.
  • Explain how to build a culture of safety.
  • Explain the difference between gemba and MBWA.
  • Describe the PDCA cycle.
  • Conduct a gemba safety walk.
  • Explain the process and goal of a Kaizen event.

Intended audience: Health and safety personnel, lean leaders, managers, supervisors, and team leads
