This training program is designed to allow you to gain knowledge about programming and troubleshooting Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) in an industrial environment. PLCs are widely used to control industrial machinery, digital displays and circuitry, and sensors. Technicians who can utilize PLC programming techniques and instructions are in demand as industry updates the control process and relies more than ever on 'high-tech' equipment.
Plant maintenance and engineering staff.
Prerequisites: Attendees should have general technical competence and be familiar with Windows operating systems. Previous PLC and electrical experience is helpful but not essential.
You Will Learn
- How to identify and explain the fundamental operation of various discrete input devices and output actuators commonly used with PLC-based control systems
- How to identify, describe, and effectively use the core instructions contained in a PLC's instruction set
- How to demonstrate the ability to successfully use the PLC programming software to perform common programming tasks
- How to read wiring diagrams and wire I/O devices
