Workforce Development

To help address the manufacturing skills gap, Purdue MEP collaborated with our Board of Advisors to create a 10-day manufacturing bootcamp.  After identifying key training needs, Purdue MEP created a program designed to prepare an entry-level employee for success on the job. Launched in 2016, our Skills for Success Manufacturing program has graduated numerous cohorts throughout the state.  Indiana’s manufacturing sector supports the program by providing participants with letters of intent to hire. In addition to displaced workers, this curriculum is ideal for onboarding new manufacturing employees.

Building on the Skills for Success Manufacturing program, Purdue MEP launched the Skills For Success Quality Technician program to upskill incumbent workers for quality roles.
